To study with us using NetMeeting, all you need is the following:

  • A PC, or a Mac running Virtual PC
  • A sound-card, and a headphone with an attached microphone (speakers & microphone aren't as good - a headset is much better!)
  • Minimum 90MHz processor
  • 16 megabytes (MB) of RAM for Microsoft Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me; 24 megabytes (MB) of RAM for Microsoft Windows NT version 4.0.
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.01 or later
  • Microsoft NetMeeting (see below)
  • A good internet connection (28.8 kbps modem or faster)

If you need to update your Internet Explorer, please click here to get it from the Microsoft site (for free). If you already have the necessary Internet Explorer, please follow the instructions below to download and install NetMeeting. Please note: If you are using Windows XP you already have NetMeeting installed. If this is not the case please install NetMeeting from your Windows XP CD-ROM - the version of NetMeeting available below will not install on Windows XP.

Installing Microsoft NetMeeting 3.01

Please follow these steps:

  1. First read through all of the following steps (2-6), then

  2. Download NetMeeting by clicking here.
When it asks you "Open [or run] this file from its current location" or "Save to disk", choose "Save this file from its current location". Remember where you save it on your computer!

  3. When it has finished saving to your computer, find it again and double-click the file nm301.exe . When it asks you if you want to install NetMeeting answer "Yes", then click on "Next" or "Finish" to all of the questions.

  4. When this has finished, start NetMeeting. You can do this by going to "Start" (in the bottom left-hand corner of your screen), then "Programs". NetMeeting should appear in the list of programs on your computer. (On some computers you may have to look in "Start" - "Programs" - "Accessories" - "Communications"). Click on the NetMeeting icon when you have found it.

  5. Enter your name, e-mail address etc. when it asks you the questions. When it asks you for the server, please enter 195.241.78.9

Then go through the Audio Tuning Wizard to set up your audio and click "Next" or "Finish".

  6. And that's it! You're now ready to call us using NetMeeting. To call our reception, please click here. You can also join our lounge (chat area) to chat with other students 24 hours a day by clicking here.
